Earlier you said "And he have a jailbreak so he should have this proplem not me .."

The only thing you can really try now is.

Do a backup

Wipe the iPad clean with a factory restore. I'd suggest getting the firmware direct from Apple and restoring from that file.

Once restored from downloaded Firmware login and download an app and see what happens. Make sure you setup as NEW IPAD not a restore

If you are restoring from a Backup you will be restoring any issues that you have.

A few other suggestions

Download a FREE APP from the App store on the iPad. See if this helps as it validates the password.

Yes, syncing information is shared - if the code is written and executed differently (it is) it will cause problems for you. Have seperate user accounts on your pc and separate libraries. Share your libraries on a home network (not the iTunes homesharing). It might also be a good idea to limit the number of Apps open at any one time on your ipad - double tap the home button, press on any App icon until it wriggles, then use the little red'-' in the corner to close it down. doing this when browsing or playing games will certainly help. if you have icloud backup turned on and also are syncing over cellular data this will also put high demands on your ioS and lead to memory drainage.

In an ideal world it would be better if he had his own PC and any songs etc you want to share you share by using a usb stick to transfer them., scanning for viruses etc when uploading them to your machine.

Apps written for jailbroken devices are specifically written for the way they execute and make various function calls to the iOS - dont use them - it is probably this that caused your problem in the first place.

If you have the time - set up your PC's or user accounts to keep them seperate - compare your Apps list in iTunes libraries. Delete any in your library that came from his. Using the Library menu page in iTunes will allow you to permanently delete them from your user account library - I would also recommend permanently deleting them from the recycle bin if that is where they end up.

Since you did a full factory restore using a fresh download of the iOS everything has been ok you say? But if you continue to share apps and syncs/backups - or syncs icloud etc with each other by sharing authorised devices in your account settings - your problems are almost certain to reappear.

You now seem to have (with Shiftlocked's help on reinstalling your iOS) a working pad again, you have spent a lot of time sorting your problems out and much time gained from others help - it would be a shame to waste all that time would it not.

Best regards and hope you have a happy ipadding from here. Nick

Sort your Apps first. To do this, with your ipad powered down OFF - (not sleeping) [hold power button down until redslider appears and slide off] - then open iTunes on your PC. Navigate to the Menu item Edit\Preferences and click on the 'Advanced' tab when the preferences box opens. Put a tick in the box where it says 'Prevent ipods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically.'

Go to the sharing Tab - take the tick out of 'Share my library on my local network'

Go to the General Tab, underneath your library name are the selections for what you share - take the tickes out of Apps and out of Shared Libraries, at the bottom of this box is a tickbox for 'Check for new software updates automatically' take the tick out of it - you can put it back in when finished.

On the main menu under Advanced, locate and click on Turn off Home sharing - it if says Turn on home Sharing - just leave it as it is.

Now turn on your ipad, and go to Settings\icloud - Select Storage and Backup - turn icloud backup Off.

Go to Settings\Wifi, and turn off wifi.

Go to Settings\Carrier and turn off carrier.

Now connect your ipad to your PC using the 30pin to USB cable.

in itunes on your PC locate the Library menu on the left hand side and select Apps - carefully check through all you see displayed to ensure you only have ones you know came from a legitimate source - IE, they were not downloaded from a jailbreak site/store.

Right click on any App displayed and you have the option to open location in windows explorer - do this so that you have an explorer window open, showing the location of the Apps on your PC, minimize the window by clicking on the little dash '_' box in the top right corner - you will need this location available to you as you delete any Apps.

Select an App in itunes library that you wish to delete, right click and select delete, click on 'Proceed to Delete', which will bring up a second dialogue box which asks whether you want to move to recycle bin or keep in the Mobile Applications folder. Select Move to Recycle bin. In the windows task bar at the bottom of the screen - left click where the marker for the Mobile Applications folder is - so it displays. Check carefully through the list for any names that match the App you have just deleted. The folder displays earlier versions that have been updated - which you will need to manually remove - right click any you need to delete and select delete from the menu.

When you have finished doing all your deletes return to iTunes. Unplug your usb from the PC, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in.

You will be asked that 'Itunes has found items on your iPad that are not present in your library - do you want to transfer them back from your pad to your library. SELECT the option 'Don't Transfer' This will ensure all those Apps you have just got rid of are also deleted from your iPad.

A sync will commence including a backup.

When finished go to Settings in your ipad and turn on wifi again and connect to your home network.

At this point I recommend leaving backup to icloud off, until I know who you share with over the cloud. your Brother and yourself do have separate AppleId's, but if you have each others devices listed in each others accounts for authorised devices - in iTunes - I suggest you log into your account in iTunes on your PC, go to the Authorised Devices page in your Account Settings and delete your brother's device - he should also do the same if you are similarly authorised in his account.

Finally - go to itunes on your PC and select menu item Edit\Preferences - click on Advanced tab - about halfway down locate and click on "Reset Cache' button.

At the top of this box is the place to choose the location of your media library. If this is something like a public folder or a folder you set up to share with your brother - I suggest you change it to one that runs in a user account that only you use. - Click OK at the bottom of the box when done will update your library.

Finally - Click on the start button in windows, in the search bar above the start button type in 'Control" and then select Control Panel from the list displayed.Find Programs and Features - which will give you a list of installed programs.

Find and select the following - iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support and iCloud Control Panel - note, that for the icloud panel you have to click on the Change option - then you get the repair option. This will help cleaar up any stray code lying around that may cause problems later. because iTunes uses QuickTime as its backend - I would also suggest you click to repair that too - if iTunes is open it will be shutdown while the repair is done. You may also need to provide an administrator password for any of the repais dependent on what type of account you are running in.

When finished - reboot your pc to restart the associated services. Open iTunes and in Edit\Preferences genral tab put the tick back in 'Check for new software updates Automatically".

Jailbroken devices sometimes require programs installing on a PC - check with your brother whether this is the case as some means to isolate them from your set up needs to be done.

Come back when finished if you need to run through any other settings you require on how to keep you and your brother's libraries separate and unsynced.

If you have any other idevices that sync with your apple account and this library (an iphone for instance) then when resyncing selecting the option to delete from the device - Do Not transfer App data that it has detected is missing from your library.

dont forget to turn your Cellular back on.

Regards, Ct
