Original (or working graphic cards) for APPLESTUDIO DISPLAY 17"(ADC/CRT)???

Hi,

could you please share your knowledge on the
graphic cards that are compatible with the
Apple Studio Display 17" (ADC/CRT) monitor.

This one:

The ATI RADEON 9000 PRO MAC is definitely a bad Apple for this monitor 🙂

I have a QUICKSILVER 2002 (single 800MHZ) and OS X 10.3.9

Many thanks,
CF

Apple G4 Quicksilver 2002, Mac OS X (10.3.9), I also use many systems PC/ SGI/ APPLE/ AMIGA

Hi CF,

Any Mac G4 edition graphics card with a native ADC port should support your ADC CRT studio display on your Quicksilver (if your G4 is ADC enabled). Possibly you got a bad ATI 9000 card, or there may be an issue with the extra slot at the end of the AGP slot in the motherboard (this extra slot supplies the power and USB feed to the ADC port).

If you can't get the ADC port to work, Gefen make a DVI to ADC adaptor that will support the ADC CRT studio display, but it's the most expensive of the adaptors.

Cheers!

Sorry to hear you are having problems! I have a Gigabit Ethernet G4 (1999-2000 release) that I've upgraded over the years. I actually opted for the ATI Radeon 9000 Pro for my setup since it offered ADC support. When I first installed the card I had a black screen on my ADC Studio Display. It worked itself out though. I have been running my ADC/CRT Studio Display along with an LCD on the VGA port flawlessly for approx. 2 years. Now I'm trying to decide on dumping more money into my faithful old G4 or save for a newer Power Mac. Good luck!

Nathan
