iOS 5.1.1 have batery loss

I have batery drain with the update to ios 5.1.1. I just take the cell of the lock screen and do nothing, and in seconds (300 seconds) i see going from 24% to 9%.

What's going on? I think updates are to solve problems, not get new ones!!!

I see the same issues, having my iphone since 5 month now. Until 5.1 everything was OK with it in regard of battery usage. Now after updating to 5.1.1 the battery lasts 5 hours from 100% to 5 %, doing NOTHING with it.

Apple deliver a solution.!!! And please - I need calendar syncing, and why does it work before 5.1.1? There is something wrong with Apple not with the user.

my ipad 1 and 3 are fine with 5.1.1, but iphone is a mess!

I have the same problems with my iphone 4. Ever since I updated to the latest software my battery drains without even doing anything. And when I use it web surfing or phone call it drains like 1% a minute. Also anyone else having audio quality issues? I have problems hearing people on the other end of the line. My iphone was fine before this. I reset my iphone an let the battery die then charged to 100% last night also deleted a bunch of apps nothing helped still having the same issue. And my phone is no longer under warranty. I wish I had not updated to this software.

Lawrence Finch has it right. An even quicker way we have found to reset the Exchange connection is to go into the Account settings for the Exchange account and turn off SSL and then save it. Then go right back into it and turn SSL back on. This will also make the iPhone resync everything with the Exchange accounts and resolves issues with fast battery drain and hot iPhones.

I have recently discovered that if i switch off my wifi and internet the battery life is amazing. I too have got awful draining problems as much as 20% an hour I have tried everything and the only way to stop it is to cut internet access. I know this isnt a solution but I do feel something is constantly connecting via wifi and draining the battery. from Experience as a computer technician its acting like an old fashioned dialler that used to run up your phone bill except this is draining the battery. I Have never used exchange or any email on my phone so thats not a possible fault. However the update could have exploited or activated a bug which keeps trying to access the internet running in the background. A simple experiment is just turn off wifi and internet access and wach the draiage....
