That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.
You can export the photo and do that in preview and then import the new photo

What everyone is asking is how to produce a MIRROR image of a photo in iPhoto.
In Microsoft Photo editor, you go to 'Rotate' and choose Mirror; It flips the image as if the photo has looked into a mirror.
For instance, if it's a picture of someone showing a left-facing profile, one can choose 'Mirror'
and it makes the photo look like it's now a right-facing profile.
I don't think iPhoto can do this and preview can't either.
At least not that I can find. Flip horzontal and vertical, yes.
But 'Mirror' --- no. Unless they use a different term - but
Preview can. IPhoto can not.

Then why not set "Preview" as external Editor in iPhoto? (in the "Advanced" tab of the Preferences, in the "Edit Photos" drop down menu?
@EdChurch:
Then simply select an image, ctrl-click, select "Edit in Preview", and in Preview select "Flip horizontal" in the "Tools" menu, then save the image.
This will create a copy in iPhoto; you need to select the copy to see the mirrored image.
Instead of using an external editor you may use an automator workflow to mirror/flip selected images in iPhoto:
Lauch Automator and create a new service.

leonieDF ... Whoever you are, you are brilliant! Thanks--🙂
Hi--
Hope this helps.
Using your MacBook or iMac:
Try opening the image you want to reverse. This will open up "Preview" (which you will see at the left top part of your computer), find Tools, open the menu, tap "Flip Horizontal." This should flip the image/ mirror the image. Then, close image with "save."
Photos of shirts with phrases that are reading backwords, this should help correct that problem.
You can also use the free application Xee to losslessly flip the image file. Export the file to the Desktop, use Xee on it and import the flipped file baqck into iPhoto.

You can flip them in Photo booth. GO to edit and flip photo
Is there some way to get images into Photobooth?
Thank you for your response. I tried the previous way using Automater but got lost. Your solution worked perfectly!
You can do this if you want to print the photo. Choose 'File', then 'Print'. When the print menu comes up, select 'Customize'. The photo will open in a new window. You can then right-click and a number of options will appear, including 'Mirror Image'. You can then select the Print button at the bottom right hand of the screen (do not use the File -> Print option again as it will print the original layout of the photo).
Hope this helps.
Thanks colt099! This method sems to be more easier to 'mirror' an image! When I clicked the Print button finally after obtaining the required mirror image, I was given further options where I chose Mail PDF. It was so nice to get it in my mail so that I could send it to others without any hassle. Thanks again!
Thank you lasurfpunk for your reverse image how-to!
You can just get the app photo editor by aviary. There is a simple one click horizontal button that solves all this. :-)
The app is free too ;)
