That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.
You can export the photo and do that in preview and then import the new photo

And so is Preview and that's already on your machine...
Even though it is free yet it is an outside app and has to be downloaded extenally while Preview is made by Apple and is absolutely compatible with Apple computers and as TD rightly said, it is 'already on your machine'.
Thank you so much!!
I have one question I don't know where the copy is.
I seem to only effect the original with no copy seen. I would like to keep a copy for reference.
I use Preview as stated and then I save. am I missing a step.

My method may be somewhat crude, but, it works. Fix the picture in preview (by clicking flip horizontal under tools) and take a screen shot (Command+shift+3). Import the screen to iPhoto and use the crop feature to cut out the screenshot around the picture. There you have your reversed picture.
Yes it is very crude and the result is a very. very low resolution image which can only be used for screen display - using an external editor like Preview (for one example) does not reduce the photo resolution

Why on earth would you take a screenshot of the image in Preview? Why not just export it from Preview?
And if you're going to do a screenshot, why not use shift-command-4 and then you won't have to crop.
But why take a screenshot at all?
Thanks for the info and criticism. I have learned better now.
Question: how to flip a photo?
Open your photo with "Preview"... go to "TOOL" there it will show few options... go down and get
Flip Horizontal or
Flip Vertical
Super easy!!!
Excellent advice Leonie! Worked perfectly.
Extremely helpful, thanks!
