Using wifi printers that is not reconized by AirPrint ?

Some printer manufacturers have their own apps in the store which support some of their models, or there are third-party printer apps such as Print Central For iPad and Print n Share which might work with your printer.

If you have a Mac you can purchase Printopia ($20), which works for me, or try a similar, free alternative called AirPrintActivator.

I tried AirPrint Activator a few months ago and it did not work reliably, however, the developer has since updated it so Google it and find out if it will work.

Both these products require a Mac and printer sharing enabled. If you only have Windows you're on your own but there may be similar utilities.

Actually, if the printer is wireless, you do NOT always need an intermediary device. HPs will support many of their non-AirPrint wireless printers directly over the network.

True, but if you're going to buy an eprint printer, why not get an AirPrint enabled one.

The point isn't necessarily buying a printer, but how to get what you have working with the iPad.

With what they charge for ink all HP printers should be free.

I am using FingerPrint - www.collobos.com - to print to my non-airprint printers.
