I would like to know the most effecient way to share a movie from final cut to compressor, and then how to burn a dvd with chapters in compressor. What steps to i take to acheive this, I am new to the programs and so far have been ging in circles tryng to burn a dvd. Please help Thanks!

Export your media (FCPX TimeLine) as a QuickTime movie. Import that into Compressor and use the batch template to choose the DVD presets. Open up the Preview window and set your chapter markers. Insert a blank disk and submit.

wouldnt exporting it to a quicktime considerable reduce the quality? Im just concerned with maintainingg the highest resolution etc

So, Max, here's an alternative: Share>DVD>Advanced>Send to Compressor. Open job in Preview window and set your chapter makers.

I second Russ H's recommendation for using the Send to Compressor option in FCP X. That appeared to keep the best resolution in a DVD project I recently finished, far better than burning a DVD in FCP or exporting a QT movie and then importing into either iDVD or Compressor.
I did run into a mysterious problem with having intermittent audio drop outs after added chapter marks in Compressor, but hopefully that was an isolated incident. If you run into any trouble, you can search this site for a workaround I posted. Good luck.
