Problem with Google after iOS 5.1.1 update.

I seem to have stumbled on a fix for my iPhone 4 by turning off Private Browsing while an image results page was open in the background, closing Safari, then turning Private Browsing on again. Once Safari was re-launched, thumbnails seemed to pop open almost instantly -- far more quickly than before 5.1.1.

Never mind. Half an hour later, Google images locked up again.

OK, I had the same problem (upgraded to 5.1.1 this morning and couldn't expand thumbnails in Safari nor could I scroll too next thumbnail page) but I just fixed it.

So what did I do?

I plugged my iphone into my iMac. As it synced with itunes, I noticed it giving it some sort of Safari fix/plug in. I picked up my phone and tried Safari/images and everything is back to the way it was (expanding/scrolling etc).

Hope this works for you. And thanks for letting me know I wasn't the only person who felt like a sap today for upgrading;)

This resolved the issue...

It's not an iOS 5.1.1 update issue. This behavior w/google is going on for me, and I am still at 5.1. Something has changed w/Google.

I'm facing the same problem! Hope Apple hurry up and fix the problem before SAMSUNG take advantage of that 😝

Hello, I'm a new italian user. Sorry for the english, first. I solved this problem deleting the navigation history, the cookies + datas and activating / disactivating the private navigation. Perhaps only one of these things is helpful, perhaps all, however the phone (4s with iOS 5.1.1) now shows me the thumbnails of pictures and i can select and enlarge it. I hope to be helpful. Hello

I was having the same issues and if u go to settings then safari - clear your history and cookies & data now everything will work 🙂

Having the same problems(iPhone 4s).Have tried all of suggested actions so far including connection to Mac.Still cannot enlarge thumbnails or change pages.Need a fix please Apple !!.Had no problems until 5.1.1 update.

So when is apple gonna stand up and say something, my girl friend updated yesterday and had this problem, and I held off until today to update thinking that people would have freaked and bitched and apple would do something. How ever both of our iPhone now suffer the exact same problem. I know the problem is some kinda glitch brought on by the update, my girl friends phone started right after the update, and we found out about, then we checked my iPhone 4s 5.1.0 and google worked fine. Today when I updated it immediately stopped working. I have tried all above techs to try and fix, nothing works

Soooo frustrating!!! Where is the apple support?

Then how come I had this problem for a couple of days BEFORE this update came out? I'm still not convinced this is caused by the update. There is something about change that causes us to point fingers at the change. While that MIGHT be the cause of issues, sometimes the change provides an excuse.
