AUSTIN, TX - BLACKOUT - 9:30 AM CST

I just spoke with a friend who works in Austin for Apple. He says the company is working on fixing the email with iCloud. All other iCloud services are now up and running. The Blackout for email seems to be affecting Apple world-wide according to his information. He says Apple is trying to bring email back up, and that such it may be 1 hour before things are fixed, but he says it should be up any time now. We all get so dependent on iCloud.

Regarding Google, no way I'd use Google as they Data-Mine, Data-Correlated and do Data Analytics on all your email, web searcing etc... you have no privacy. With Apple theyre email is encrypted and I feel more safe using them versus Google which sells your information to 1) Government 2) Retailers 3) Industry. Even the defense industry tells its contractors to NOT USE GOOGLE when communicating with them!

I have to admit this is the very first time I am that disappointed with Apple but I can tell you, very disappointed I am... By the way, same thing for me this morning in Montreal Canada, service gone, then back, then gone.. I just cannot understand how come Apple did not send some sort of a "Dear customers, we are so sorry, we had a xyz problem that we have fixed or still trying to fix.." No. Not a single word. Basic customer care stuff. Is this our first real view of the post-Steve Job era?.. Oh yeah, very very disappointed I am..

This is turning in to a nearly weekly occurrence with iCloud. Mail has been a problem since day one and continues to be a problem. What's most disturbing about this is, email isn't that complicated. These are fundamental issues that should have been resolved long ago. Apple is starting to lose credibility in the cloud arena, in my opinion. Get it fixed, guys. If you can't even do email right, why should I trust your other cloud services?
