BRIGHT Red Dot (stuck pixel) on screen!
I have had an iMac G5 2.1 ghz(latest 20" PPC iMac)-- and since the day I got it, it always had this BRIGHT red dot right in the middle of the screen.
I have been told by many people that it is a STUCK pixel, not a DEAD pixel.
I've tried methods such as: Massaging the dot with a 'damp' rag, applying pressure on/around the red dot, and going to a 'stuck pixel fix' website, which flashes colors really, really fast.
None of the above have worked, and Apple (i'm sure) wouldn't waste their time to fix it. I mean, it would be around the same 'type' of situation as a dead pixel, "If we repaired every screen that had one pixel not viewable, we would be fixing thousands of these a day".
The only difference is, I have a couple of dead pixels on my imac, but they're barely even noticable; I didn't even know they were there until I went looking for other ones. Regaurdless-- My iMac has this ugly annoying bright red dot, that is EXTREMELY noticable when using ANYTHING with a dark background, and makes everything look bad; note: front row, night photos, my wallpaper, world of warcraft.
All in all, it is the most noticable problem with my iMac, and it drives me CRAZY. (along side the fan buzzing /sigh)
Does anyone have any other ideas other than what i've done so far? Or do you think calling Apple and explaining that I have a STUCK pixel (not dead), they would try to repair it?
