I've had about a dozen requests for a Mac version of my book in the week since it went live. I don't know how useful this might be for others, but it seems like it would be pretty easy for Apple to implement. I'll be making a feature request, but I'm curious if other people think this could be useful and expand the market a bit.
I understand that other ePub's don't support the level of interactivity that iBooks Author does. If I am going to to the trouble to remaster, though, I might as well use inDesign or some other application with the broadest selection of output options.

Yes, if you have InDesign (and the skills to use it), that's the more flexible option. I suggested Pages mainly because it about as easy to use as IBA.
