    Navid,

As I said at the outset, the EFI password reset is best handled by Apple.  Contact Apple, explain your situation, and try to work with them to resolve this problem.  Then, as X---X said, it you set a new EFI password, write it down some where that it will not get lost.

Start with: http://www.apple.com/contact customer support, and explain your problem, location and ask what you can do to get help.

I'm sorry that I bought my Apple products.

That for any value of the company's customers.

And this time the Apple warranty and online support.

    Sorry!

What I would like to know is how anyone can forget their password? Especially the Boot EFI password.

    Seems like something isn't right.

Here is an interesting - 10% chance that I'll forget your password.

90% have not forgotten my password - the device does not accept!

My friend - the problem is here:

I'm living in Iran - so Apple does not call me. (Phone Iran - Apple is not acceptable)

My English is not advanced - as well as Iranian-registered with mynotebook - so Apple in any way - do not call me.

I at least like the other companies had online chat or email address.

The result: about a month of this notebook is pretty expensive - I can not use in any way.

A safe way to contact Apple

Friends - it is possible that one of you - each of you is possible.

Call Apple and tell them of my situation. Perhaps the solution offered?

    Thank you

I hate to be the curmudgeon, everyone wants to help. That said, Apple has explicit rules regarding Iran (long standing trade embargo; this includes use of the software in restricted regions):

    http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/MacOSX.htm

    8. Export Law Assurances.
You may not use or otherwise export or reexport the Apple Software except as authorized by United States law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Apple Software was obtained. In particular, but without limitation, the Apple Software may not be exported or re-exported (a) into (or to a national or resident of) any U.S. embargoed countries (currently Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria) or (b) to anyone on the U.S. Treasury Department’s list of Specially Designated Nationals or the U.S. Department of Commerce Denied Person’s List or Entity List. By using the Apple Software, you represent and warrant that you are not located in, under control of, or a national or resident of any such country or on any such list.

    Another note, you mentioned:

there is Apple's representative in Iran

To be clear, Apple has no official presence in Iran.

Would still like to help, but wanted to set expectation since we're treading in a very delicate area...

Sanctions against Iran = you should not even have an Apple computer.

Sounds like the Apple computer is stolen.

    Apple - HP  and ...

Eye of the hot market for netbooks could never take on Iran?

With all due - reach their products to Iran!

How? Through offices in Canada - Sweden!

    Also - mr.don montalvo:

How to talk to a person's character is revealed!

I love the Mac - almost double the cost of buying an Apple notebook - should come as a thief???

  • morpheuzlal Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

The above solution only works in macbook before 2010. So it wont work for you.

  • morpheuzlal Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

By the way, He cant buy it in Iran, but can buy it everywhere else in this world.

So even if that supposed embargo still remains, the fact is that it wont give you the right to assume someone is a robber. Be polite, and stop acusing people.

I hope that you realize how unfair your comment was, or , maybe just dumb .

  • soren_parth Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

Well it's almost a long time after your comment. But FYI apple products are very easy to buy in Iran and all the stores are full of new products! That's right there is no official apple retailer in Iran, but I assume the goods are exported from dubai, china or anywhere!

Moreover you can always buy something from apple stores outside Iran when you're traveling! so every apple product in Iran is not stolen!

The problem is there is no authorized repair center to go to!

    That's all
