iMac drops Wifi connection after 10.7.4 update

Finaly i've solved Apple's problem the same way emanuel did. I bought myself a seperate WIFI adapter. WIFI is stable since that moment

It's a bloddy shame that Apple don't solve this problem for their customers. We all bought a expecive iMac and have to buy a 9,99 adapter to let the wifi work properly.

Shame on you Apple!

This has been driving me crazy...............However, I followed the advice in the thread and have now enabled the 5GHz connection and it has been rock solid for over a day.

Why does the new adaptor work if the problem is in the Lion software. Is Lion incompatible with the original adaptor but compatible with your Asus?

I installed ML this afternoon, so far so good as far as dropping WIFI connection, but it's only been a couple of hours.....Keeping my fingers crossed.

Wifi has been going strong for several hours now after installing ML!!! I think they fixed it!

I have installed ML yesterday, I previously reinstalled lion from scratch and now I have this status:

Maybe I'll give Mountain Lion a try. I've had a stable wifi connection so far with my USB wireless adapter, but would much rather prefer to use my imac's internal one instead.

Mountain Lion still has the same issue. Please take note! I did a clean install and the problem still persists. Lion also has the same problem. I think most the IMAC are facing the similar issue.

I'm sorry I haven't read this entire post but I've also had problems with my imac dropping it's wifi signal. Yesterday I called apple and they had me delete the "preferred networks" from "system preferences/network/wifi/advanced"

I then connected to my wifi network and re-entered my password. It hasn't dropped the signal since. Pretty simple fix but the problem is extremely irritating. I don't have time for this stuff.

When I called the support agents were fully aware of the problem.

Got mine sorted. Bit brutal but this worked. Saved all my photos and important stuff. Then did a reinstall. Upgrade to mountain lion. Job done brilliant. Mountain Lion is pretty good.
