OS 10.7.4 & E-Mail Account on Exchange Server

I'm not sure what was being blocked on my Open DNS account but I had selected a block on the **** etc sites. All was ok when I got rid of Open DNS. I didn't try it without the block active as it had been working up until until the last apple upgrade.

I spoke too soon. The only way to get this to work it is to create a socks proxy to avoid Open DNS entirely. This is not a workable long term solution. Not sure why just unblocking my corporate domains didn't work, reeks of a caching issue. I tried a reboot no help. Just hate to have to keep going back to my Windows machine to check my mail :-(

Cant you just use a different DNS at all? I moved over to Google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 works fine now.

Changing DNS fixed it for me...

OS 10.7.4 update broke it, simply changing the DNS fixed it.

I've thought about clearing the caches, and also deleting and re-adding the account, but no need if the DNS change fixes it.

Sorry for such a novice/noobish question, but can someone help walk me through the process to make this DNS change so that my iMail will connect and fetch my Exchange mail?

I am new to the Mac OS and don't muck around much with network stuff.

So to do that we need to know how you connect to the internet, do you have a router, a modem or on some other means. Need to know the type so that we can get you logged on there to enable some changes to be made.

I connect -- at home -- to the wireless network from our router. At work, I do similarly through a wireless faculty network. These are the primary ways I connect. If we are on the road, I will use the wireless at various hotels, restaurants, etc. Does this help?

well if you are getting the same problem across that range that sounds very odd, i imagine that you would be using different DNS between home and work.

Please try logging onto your home router and change the DNS to 8.8.4.4 and 8.8.8.8 these are the Google DNS and work well for me.

This worked for me! I have been using OpenDNS for a few years but changing was easy and fixed my problem with both my Exchange accounts. Thanks.
