Try removing the following files:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
I am having the same problem. I am using OSX 10.6.8 and safari 5.1.7 and can not view downloaded PDF files from the internet. Anyone know how to fix that? It really should have been done a while ago, this has been going on since January of this year.

I have/had the same problem, your solution worked for me
Top Man,
thanks

I am experiencing the same issue, however, there are no Adobe plug-ins. Safari should support PDF viewing. Current workaround is to right-click on blank PDF window in Safari > Select Open PDF in Preview. Lame but it works for now
Cheers !
I am having the same problem, I usually copy the https and paste into chrome, works great there. The mentioned plug-ins are not in my lib
There are two library folders, one in your username/home folders and the other located in the HD folder- the plug-ins are only in the HD Library folder/ Internet Plug-Ins.
If you checked both then I don;t know what to suggest!
Worked a treat, after I restarted the laptop, thanks!
Thanks X423424X
Your solution worked for me.

Thank you X423424X and girlracer. Removing the internet plug-ins and restarting computer worked beautifully - made my day 🙂
I'm having this problem as well - but not clear as to where to find these internet plug-in folders - I did a search for them in File Folder but haven't located! Thanks in advance for your help as this will definitely make my day(s) to come!
Thanks a lot X423424X
