Weird Bubble Sound Happens Randomly

I was able to resolve this issue on my phone, and I believe that there's a bug in iOS.

On my Notification Centre home screen Mail and Calendar both said that they weren't included in the notification centre, or had no sounds enabled, but when I went into them they had sounds and vibrations enabled.

I'd recommend going into the notification settings for all apps that ship with the phone such as:

Phone, Messages, Reminders, Photos, Game Center, Mail, FaceTime, App Store, Calendar, Podcasts

regardless of what the Notification Centre home screen tells you to check their sound settings.

Hello, I have noticed the strange trumpet duh-duh followed by a bubble noise that sounds like sonic the hedge hog is drowning over the past few days. I haven't heard this sound before until recently. I've noticed it when using Safari but I cannot be certain what is causing the sound. Anymore information regarding this error message would be appreciated. I've thought about removing any apps that I've installed over the past week, I'll wait to see if anyone else knows more about the strange sound.

Apparently there is no notification bubble since the noise is associated with something that is not supposed to happen. It's a bug.

i also get a sound i don't have life360 but have skype. however, by what i read mine doesn't fit the sound descriptions it doesn't have any bubble sound to it nor any page turning. i can only describe it by saying that it is a 1 maybe 1.5 sec sound which reminds me of what i hear in between news segments on euronews' satelite tv. and it happens even when skype is uninstalled.

Is the bubble sound that you're describing happen at all times of the day or during a specific time frame? I have been hearing what I can only describe as a "stomach gurgling" bubble type sound. Sometimes it's short and happens a few times in a row and other times it's a bit longer and more random. It usually happens at night between 9pm and 5:30am. I do not have Life 360 or skype apps on my phone. Any ideas? I am getting quite frustrated. Thanks for any help you all may be able to give 🙂

I get the same exact thing as you and kolgreat, and I have no idea what it is! It's really annoying though.

Skype plays a sound when a "Contact Becomes Available". It is randomly occurring bubble sounds. Easy to turn off. Skype > Preferences > Notifications ...then from Event box dropdown select "Contact Becomes Available' > unclick "Play Sound".

Its difficult to describe a sound, but a bubble like sound happens when there is a new notification in e-bay. Next time the sound happens, check your notifications in the e-bay app (if you use it) and you should find there has just been a new notification, problem solved?

Yes, Yes, Kolgreat!! I get the page-turning sound every day at 1:00pm!!! OMG, I've been Googling this for weeks and yours is the first comment I've seen with the same issue. Of course, that doesn't help either one of us because we don't know what it's from. But at least now I know that there isn't a gremlin in my phone reading the newspaper! 😝

(And I do not have Life360. So it is not the bug described above.)

The exact same thing is happening with my phone. I wasn't sure how to describe the sound, but you said it perfectly. I have no idea why it keeps happening. It started about two weeks ago and the sound has randomly played several times for no apparent reason. There are no alerts on my phone and no apps are running when it makes the noise. I don't have life360 or skype so those aren't the problem. I have reset my settings so I'm hoping that may solve the problem, but it is getting very frustrating, especially when it goes off at 3am! I would love any other suggestions!

Do you have Skype for iPhone? That could be the thing making the noise.

I have the same random "du da" noise followed by bubble sounds but don't have Life360 installed

I do have Skype installed but never use it.

Yeah, mine does this too. Glad to know it's a known bug and nothing to worry about
