Motorola v3i and iCal?

Hi,

I have had some success synchronising the v3i with Address Book using the USB cable. However, I am unable to synchronise the v3i with iCal.

I created the plist entry for the v3i following a hint on Mac OSX Hints ( http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20060111112609654).

I have checked the iSync preferences and they are ok. I have read in other messages on this forum that some people have successfully synchronised with Address Book and iCal. Can anybody give me any tips as to how to get the synchronisation to work with iCal?

If I can just get this to work I don't mind that I can't do it using BT. If I can't get it to work I need to send the phone back to o2 using the old 14 day rule!

Cheers,

How hard can it be ??

Last year we forgave Apple for abandoning iSync v1.5 because Tiger was due out in days. And Tiger had the new iSync v2, which brought relief for some (if not most) of us.
But no excuses this year. And how does my XP laptop sync with my RAZRv3i over BT perfectly. And it's about 5x quicker that iSync 2.1 with my older RAZRv3.

Uhm... I'm kind of baffled at what just happened here after reading so many "can't sync" posts:

Even in spite of all the posts I've read lately about V3i Bluetooth sync problems with OS X, I decided to buy a V3i yesterday (iTunes version) and I just set it up where it perfectly synced both Address Book and iCal through iSync via Bluetooth. Zero USB cable. In fact the only use for the USB cable it came with is for syncing my iTunes (which also works fine). So how did this happen? Could it be that the latest updates from Apple fixed the problem and no one took the time to post a "resolved issue" message on the forums? I'm telling you, I'm not kidding. I'm checking back right now the phone and yes, there it is: all my contacts (names and all e-mail addresses to each one) and all my iCal calendars on the phone.

The only disappointment I have is that instead of the 100 song cap on iTunes it tells me I can't fit no more than 50 songs. Huh?! Oh well, I can live with just 50 songs as long as the phone syncs the way it should via Bluetooth.

Where do you live, Leon? I recently moved from the United States to Costa Rica where there's just one massive telecommunications company (government-owned monopoly) so all phones you find here come totally unlocked, unlike in the US where you get a phone locked to work exclusively for Verizon, Cingular, Sprint, etc. I wonder if the problem has something to do with this.

For example, there was a big controversy last year about some smart phone Verizon started offering to customers but they tweaked the devices and heavily crippled its Bluetooth capabilities so customers could only use the company's fee-based data transmission services. In the end enough customers complained about this and the company apparently fixed the issue. Could it be that V3i phones sold by certain mobile companies in the US or Europe simply come with some restriction on its Bluetooth capabilities? I know mine comes completely unlocked... and it worked.
