network connection too unstable to download update through itunes

I cannot update the ridulously large 753Mb update as the connectivity collapses on my slow netork and the Apple dowload ability to be paused doesn't work either as it goes back to zero every time.

This has to be the worst download service on the planet and Apple only want more money to help.

Is there any way to download the update outside of iTunes and get the update done as I can download large fles successfully from other services. It's just APple that is incapable of delivering.

iPad, iOS 4.3.2

Yes I found that and dowloaded what I thought was the correct version (taking about 5 hours with multiple pauses and restarts to keep the useless download server working) only to find that it now says the version is incompatible!

I have and iPad 3G (all the information that Apple gives out in my account when I type in the serial number not whether it is an iPad 1 or whatever) and there is not an obvious equivalent on the osxdaily.com site that matches that definition. I have to say that Apple's support of its registered customers is not exactky helpful and in fact I would say it is positively obstructive.

Apart from the poor performance of it's website , it is clear that the restrictive practises of this company needs more scrutiny from the regulatory authorities. One day they might even understand that American English is not the only English dictionary in the world.

Internet speed is an issue and I am conecting via iTtunes and USB connector but which update version is the right one for an iPad 3G? Perhaps someone from Apple would tell me but them again why should they when they can extract more money in order to give a simple answer, it certainly is not clear in my account on iTunes. I guess they have to make money wherever they can. Appalling support, appalling download server, iTunes is useless for all updates ever since 5,0 came out and my slow connection. Not good enough. I can get the download through the osxdaily site and pause and resume work (unlike iTunes) but I still have no clue which version I need as none of the descriptions matches the description of my iPad 3G in my iTunes account.

Yep. Knew that and have managed to download and update the iPad now, but the iPhone 3GS download ended up forcing me to restore the iPhone (why does this always happen with the iPhone?) and the only way to get the software for a restore (the same software that I downloaded that caused the problem) is via iTunes which will fail as it is incompetent as far as pause and resume is concerned. So now my wife's iPhone is toasted and it may never be recoverable because of Apple's incompetence.
