in addendum to Tom's advice, re-recording it:
the poor man's Voice Chamber is a simple, thick, soft blanket - over your head, mic and, if pic is needed, monitor.
it looks hillarious, but gives a very 'dry' sound.
never let a 12y stand aside you while doing so "Dad! You're nuts!!" (... my son)
You have to re-record it. The echo is the same frequencies as the voice. There is no way to remove it.
If you can't re-record it easily, you can try using an expander or noise gate on the audio. In essence, what it will do is lower the volume of any sound below a certain threshold. The idea here is that, when the direct voice is speaking, you don't really notice the echo as much. When the direct voice stops, whatever happens after (the echo) will be dropped in volume. Apply one of these filters to your audio and play with the threshold until it triggers as soon as the direct voice stops. Play with the amount of volume decrease until is sounds natural (or as close as possible) as it will often sound obvious and unnatural at first. It's not perfect, but it does work well enough on certain recordings.
Gotta go. Otherwise I'd explain more thoroughly.
