iTunes won't recognise my iPod Nano 6th Generation. Please Help?

Today I tried syncing some new songs to my iPod Nano 6th Generation, but it wouldn't even be recognised by iTunes. This has only happened today, as yesterday it was syncing just fine. I have followed the online troubleshooters, doing exactly as they said and I have tested every USB port on my laptop and with each one of them it didn't work. When I plug the USB cable in however, it makes the sound it usually does, it just doesn't show on My Computer or iTunes. I went onto my Devices and Printers and my iPod hasn't shown up there, however there is an unspecified device. It says 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver'. It says that it needs trouble-shooting, which I did, but that couldn't identify the problem. I clicked on 'view detailed information', where it says that there is a problem with PnP devices. Could someone please tell me what this means and how I can fix it? Thanks.

Did you follow the exact instructions in Apple's online support document for uninstalling and re-installing iTunes and all Apple related software?

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

What happens when you plug it in? What shows on the iPod's display while it is plugged in? Does it still charge?

What I did was entered the task mananger clicked "show all processes from all users," and killed ipodservice and ituneshelper (something like that) with my ipod unpluged. Once I plugged my ipod back in it loaded and started up like it was suppose to. Also changed what usb plug I I had the nano plugged in.

Hi, gen 6 nano won't sync or even be recognized. On a mac, though, but same issues. Gone through just about everything. It won't sync on 2 different Macs. Both using itunes 11, latest version. iphone5 syncs and works properly. There is definetly a problem with compatibility. If anyone has any answers or suggestions that would be cool.

Thanks

I had a similar issue with my ipod nano 2nd generation (i know very old school) after upgrading to itunes 11.0.2. My ipod was not recognized by my itunes. It turned out to be a simple solution for me. All I had to do was reset my iPod Nano and plug it back into my USB port and it was immediately recognized. Instructions on how to reset each type of ipod can easily be found on this support community. Simple but I hope it helps.
