Unable to Install 5.1.1 Update

iPad 2 renders, "An error occured installing iOS 5.1.1."

It is fully charged. I have tried using the charger when updating. I have also tried wiping it, but it still fails with the same error.


In Diagnostics and Usage, the log shows, "Closest marketing capacity entry for padding was 16GB however this device is 1GB, this might not be optimal."


Toward end of log, "2ff84000 : boot partition (required/actual): 24345562 / 52428800"

"2ff84000 : failed to create boot partition for update"


I can't find any usable search results for any of these log strings. This is a 64GB iPad 2 showing 53.8 GB available.

Just found this thread on here. I had the same issue a few days before you did (guess that's why I couldn't find anyone else with the same problem back then). The way I fixed it was having to use iTunes to update, but I suspect you'll have the same issue when updating to iOS 6.
