That's what I thought. You did not turn off the hidden files diplay in the finder because is says AppleShowAllFiles is TRUE. So do it again and this time verify it. In terminal:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles 0
killall -9 Finder
To verify check the value again (although hopefully the invisibles are gone after the killall).
defaults read com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles
The only issue that I had was a missing piece of punctuation with this string.
Once I made a slight change to the argument, it worked perfectly (rather than go through the tons of additional strings the other person had to do which others may. I dunno)
This was what I did...
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles 0; killall -9 Finder
I did it as one string. The ONLY change is the semi-colon after the Zero and before the killall.
Worked like I charm and I now have folders which don't put my brain in troubleshooting mode....a good thing.
