TMP folder issue

I noticed a weird TMP folder on my Mac, and I decided delete it, once thought it was full of useless temporary files. And so I did.
After that I'm no longer able to copy, paste, drag and drop anything in any applications!

I've read some suggestions of intalling certain apps that could help wiht that, but, since i cannot drag and drop, I'm unable to install anything!

Please, help me! 😟

Try rebooting. I don't remember if /tmp will be recreated or not since you were not supposed to delete it. It's a place for processes to create temporary files that may be needed for the duration of those processes and that may mean the duration of your boot session. The folder is emptied upon reboot. The only question is if it will recreate it if it finds it is not there. Indeed the only question may be whether you can reboot at all!

If /tmp needs to be manually created here's the general directions to do it:

sudo mkdir /private/tmp

sudo chown root:wheel /private/tmp

sudo chmod 777 /private/tmp

But you may need to do it while booted from another volume, in which case you need to specify the proper pathname to the volume with the missing /tmp.
