Unable to connect Macbook Pro to IPhone 4S via Bluetooth. I get the code for pairing which I accept on the IPhone but there is no connection and my IPhone says that Macbook Pro is not supported.
Similarly I am not able to connect Nokia Headset BH-217 to my IPhone 4S via Bluetooth. However, I was able to connect the Nokia Headset BH-217 to my old IPhone 3GS via Bluetooth.
Please help.

End of 2014 and still not working. It appears this was deliberate for some reason.
I don't have a "tethering" data plan, but that's not what I want to do anyway. I just want the iPhone and MacBook (both recent models) to communicate. I have an app with a feature related to the phone's physical proximity to the laptop. No dice. Come on, Apple....

What's up with not being able to make a hotspot with my Macbook Pro - which picks up the wifi signal perfectly when my IPhone 4S is apparently too weak for that. I tried connecting them via Bluetooth trying to make wifi magic happen, came up empty handed. Its impossible to connect my Apple iPhone to my Apple Macbook?
Don't even get me started on iPhoto. I have a whole library that seems to be mysteriously impossible to open with the 10.10.3 Yosemite. Haven't had the energy to figure out Apple's newly screwy encrypted photo maze system.
