Somehow I seem to have lost my "recently added" option on the playlists that displays on the left side of iTunes, so I cannot check which items (songs mostly) I added. How can I get this back please?

Select File/New Smart Playlist and set as follows:

  • Match the following rule - (a tick in the box)
  • Change "Artist" to Date Added - (from the drop-down menu)
  • Change "is" to is in the last - (from the drop-down menu)
  • Change "1" to 2 - (type it in, in the box that currently says 1)
  • Change "days" to weeks - (from the drop-down menu)
  • Live updating - (leave the tick in the box)
  • Click OK (You're done)

  • Do not put a tick in the box named "Limit to".

At this time, you almost certainly do not need to put a tick in the box named "Match only ticked items", so ignore it.

You will notice that some of the "next" options change as you set the first ones. This is normal. Also, if you wish to have recently added for longer than 2 weeks, feel free to set you own choice. (I think 2 weeks is the setting Apple used. Yes, my Recently Added disappeared too!)

Oh Thank You so much for helping me solve this issue. I am profoundly grateful to you. although the playlist listed itself (labeled itself) as "untitled playlist" instead of "recently added", I can work with it no problem. I tried renaming it but could not do so, but all the recently added songs and videos are automatically imported into this new list. I am happy now. Thank you once again!
