iMac G4 Power Cord question

I received a 17" iMac G4 recently, but it came sans power cord, and I'd like to get it up and running to check it out.

Other than the color, is there anything special about the pinout of the "official" Apple cord that would prevent me from using a generic ""Micky Mouse" style power cord from a box store? Just want to be sure Apple didn't do something silly like swap hot and neutral around...

The prior owner said that it tried to start, but never comes up completely. He tried different HDDs, CDs & drives, to no avail. We're thinking it's either the power supply or some bad caps on the MB... But I need to power it before I can start my own testing.

BTW - any links to a reasonably priced "official" power cord would be welcome!

Thanks!
