Apple Mail puts a email in "DRAFTS" after I send it?

It's still happening to me on a random basis - surely someone knows why it does and how to stop it!

Never use to happen in Snow Leopard, this is very odd.

wow. that was easy. funny that 2 different one to one teachers didn't know that! thanks! The older ones that were already there are still there, but a test email sent did not end up there.

The tried to remap the mailbox, however the options (inbox, drafts...) under the "Use mailbox As" option are grey/unselectable. Any suggestions?

Had the same issue show up in Sierra using Mail through a POP server. Your trick worked, though now the V2 is a V4.

I have this with several accounts, including a GoDaddy IMAP account (first displayed the behavior) and then it started for some of my academic EXCHANGE accounts. I also have a gmail account.

Turning off save Drafts is not acceptable as I want to be able to recover drafts when things go wrong -- I also find the current version of Mail hangs pretty often.

To whom do we complain loudly and bitterly? I always preferred Thunderbird, but it doesn't (or didn't a few years ago) play well with Exchange accounts, and I teach at CC where exchange rules.
