Apple Mail puts a email in "DRAFTS" after I send it?

Whenever I send a email thru Apple Mail using my Gmail account, it will put the email in the DRAFTS folder. How do I keep this from happening?

I have 3 email accounts that I use in Apple Mail and the Gmail one is the only one that does this.

Sorry if this has been answered but the answer is pretty simple (I eventually found out!).

You need to change settings in Gmail in web browser.

Go to Labels and make sure the show in imap box is unchecked for Drafts. Thats it!

If this stays checked it doesnt matter what Apple mail tries to do, the box will recheck.

Hope that makes sense and that I'm not repeating already given solutions!

can somebody tell me, if I see the mails in my "sent" folder in google mail, if they have been sent for sure?! this is really annoying!!!!!! I need to know if those emails were sent or not.

I just got the new macbook pro and mail is driving me nuts. never had problems with my old macbook for over several years. can't believe they can't fix that if it has been working on the old macbooks without any problems!!!

Yes that would mean the message was sent.

Your sent messages should show up on your computer also. If you have it set to store sent messages on the server in Mail preferences, you may not have the sent messages mapped to the main Sent mailbox in Mail. Look at the gmail imap account folder in the sidebar. Expand it to show all mailboxes beneath it. If the Sent Messages mailbox is listed under it, click on it to highlight it and select Mailboxes in the menu, then Use This Mailbox For, and then Sent mailbox. This should correctly map it to the correct place.

I have the same problem. I try to send a message in Mail, and sometimes (but not always) it ends up in the drafts folder. I do not know then whether it has gone out, or not.

Also, I find no way to send this “draft” on its way.

This is a bad interface design. The user should always be able to see what is going on, and there should always be a way for the user to actuate needed processes (in this case, getting mail to GO).

Unchecking the "store drafts on the server" in the "Mailbox Behaviours" does not apply for me as I do want to keep Drafts (as long as they are not sent) in the Drafts folder to edit them from any other Apple device. Actually, AFTER successfully sending a mail it sometimes appears both in the Sent AND Drafts folder - this is not the idea - isn´t it?
