Can't save [Preview]

Here's my problem...

When I edit an image I have on my desktop with the Preview app and then save it, everything works fine.

If I edit that same image with Photoshop CS6, save it (same or copy) on the desktop, and then try for example to resize or crop it with the Preview app, it won't work. It says it can't autosave because I don't have the right permissions or something like that... I already tried to repair them. I use the latest version of Lion. I also tried to do the same thing on Snow Leopard and it works fine. Is there anyone who can help me? Thanks.

(I am pretty new to Photoshop. Hope it's not something stupid I didn't know 😀)

Yes, I can. Made a copy (Duplicate) and I could edit it. (The icon didn't change as it usually happens)

I'm not sure why this is happening, but I suggest you delete the original and keep the copy.

I am having the same issue. it has to be Preview.app that's causing the issue because the jpg can be saved from other apps but not preview. i'm pooling my hair.

Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to the state it’s in now.

Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.

Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:

sudo chown -R $UID $TMPDIR..

You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command.
