Anybody using the StudioPro 3 monitors?

A review of these monitors sounded too good to be true? (Especially for the price.) Anyone using these?

I am not sure it'd help with tuning your room and monitors, but there's an app I have been reading about called Har_Bal that will analyze your mix and tell you what frequencies are needed to tweak to get a good sound. You can even use a commercial CD you like as a reference with it! Unfortunately, there is not yet a Mac version. But if enough folks google it, read about it, and write to them requesting a Mac version, maybe they'd get one out quicker. I have heard a lot of guys in the VoxTalks forum talking this app up in a major way.

That program is not a new program and they are already working on a Mac version, I just hope it's a Universal version and not just PPC. It's supposed be out the 1st quarter of this year ( their announcement was made last year). However at $100.00 it is a bit pricey for most people. Below is the companies official announcement:

We are acutely aware that there is a large Mac user base out there that would appreciate our product and we will be addressing this issue. It is simply a matter of time. Since we are a small organization we only have limited resources and this is the main cause for delay.

However, we can tell you that we are scheduled to begin work on a Mac port in the 1st quarter of next year.

If you are in desperate need of the product now all we can suggest is purchasing a PC version and running it on a second hand PC. It will run fine on a 500MHz machine. It "doesn't" run under PC emulation on a Mac. If you do go down this route you will "NOT" have to purchase another license to run on a Mac when the Mac version becomes available because our licensing policy is that a Har-Bal license is good for all supported platforms.

Yes, I know. I wrote to them and their response was:

Sorry for the Mac delays. Life is very busy these days so I haven't had much time for "any" software development. However, I'm starting to think I need to do a major re-structuring of Har-Bal to support all I have in mind for the future. That ties in well with making it Mac compatible. We've been dragging the chain a bit on the Mac port because of the need for a new feature release but now that we need a sizeable restructuring I can resurrect the Mac port. I'll let you know when a Mac version is available.

So it seems we'll have to wait. A lot of folks I have read about say this is one cool app, and if it does what they say, for me, $100 isn't bad at all.

Mac users take for granted how good they've got it:

‱Pro level OS on allmachines. Amazing stability and multitasking.

‱Worry free operation (mail without spam, internet without spyware, viruses)

‱Many fun and free (or very cheap) apps included. I have spent very little money to get this mac to do all I need it to do.

Life is good!
