How do I go about blocking websites using Sudo in Terminal?

Nobody in the Kenwood Towne Center locations seems to know how or they are to scared. I came here so that if anything went wrong they would be the ones responsible & it under warranty not me.

One of our family friends suggested calling up our local ISP which is Cincinnati Bell. He suggested that they may be able to block some content or do a parental control. I thought of using a router block somehow but that is probably another can of worms. My child must be desperate to be that curious if one was to start going into public to watch, see, hear, et cetera to get **** or going to a friends house just to get a look uck! Child is way above that. Friends would probably tell or brag about so it would get back to us.

I saw your post but didn't bother to respond because I couldn't improve on Thomas's original reply. You didn't explain why you wanted to block websites and Thomas assumed it was for security reasons.

Do not listen to ds store. That is just a bad idea and worthless. Everyone of us (aside from ds store, of course) is on the same page here. Use Parental Controls. That is what it was designed for. It will do exactly what you want. Here is more information:

I wouldn't originally have recommended Parental Controls. But I hadn't looked at that in Lion, and it looks like there is now a setting that will block adult sites. Where it gets its list from, and how reliable it is, I don't know. But using Parental Controls last time I tried it was much clunkier. I'd be inclined to try it again now, if my kids weren't all using cheap POS Windows netbooks now. (My wife's idea, after their old iMac died... and it's working out great for me, as none of them now want anything but a Mac for their next computer! 😉)
