Soundflower doesn't have a prefence pane. You'll see it listed in the Audio window of Audio MIDI Setup (Utilities folder) and in the output and input panes of Sound Preferences.
It does appear in the Applications folder..

I was trying Dictation on Mountain Lion, but I couldn't make it work with Soundflower installed (it seems it doesn't works with ML). So I uninstalled it (downloading the installation .dmg and clicking the uninstaller). It removed everything from my computer but the mic still don't work properly.
I go to Sound Preferences and the microphone receives every tap I do on the keyboard (it's a MacBook Air btw), but not my voice. I need to be next to the keyboard and talk there.
As you can see, there's no Sounflower options anywhere.
Perhaps you haven't noticed, but this is the Snow Leopard Forum. Try the ML one.
Manually delete 'Soundflower.kext' from /System/Library/Extensions.
I had same issue and manually removing Soundflower Extension did the trick for me.
I was having the same problem. I just installed soundflower again. Then ran the uninstall script and voila! It removed the soundflower extension from my sound control panel.
I think I may have found the solution for "Uninstalling Soundflower for Mac OSX". If you have deleted the program itself by dragging it to the trash, redownload the program, have your laptop restarted and download the program again and it will restart once more. When you log back on, go to the Soundflower folder and click uninstall and it will open the run script file, run it and it will delete the program. Now, restart your mac immediately and inspect your audio inputs when you log back on.
So :
1. Have Soundflower downloaded (Redownload if need be)
2. Let it restart
3. Open Soundflower folder upon log–in
4. Run "Uninstall Soundflower" - Click Run on script program
5. Restart immediately
6. Check Audio input (just incase it's still there)
Rejoice, god is good.
I found the official answer straight from the splashtop website on how to uninstall it, followed the directions and it worked!
here is the link there where I found the answer, its about 3/4 way down right before the comments
here is a screenshot from the website as well! good luck!
B). How do I un-install Soundflower?
1. Click "Go" on the Tray menu (upper left).
2. Click the "Go to Folders" item.
3. Type "/System/Library/Extensions"
4. Find the file "Soundflower.kext"
5. Remove that file, and then re-start the Mac system.
6. Open System Preferences -> Sound -> Output.
You should not see SoundFlower any more in the Output tab.
thanks, that did the trick for me
Everyone gave awesome advice. The solution for most I think is very straight forward. I'd had soundflower stuck as an option in "Sounds" forever even after uninstalling the app. I redownloaded the application installer pack and used the uninstall script that was included. Soundflower does not dissapear until you restart your computer after the uninstall script.
Here are the steps to remove Soundflower completely from the audio channels.
Open Terminal in Utilities and type your password when prompted, then enter the following commands:
sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext
sudo rm -rf /Library/Receipts/Soundflower*
sudo rm -rf /var/db/receipts/com.cycling74.soundflower.*
sudo rm -rf /Applications/Soundflower
Then, restart your computer.
Yep.
That worked for me too. Thanks all.

This works for the OsX El Capitan
Ok, so I had all the same problems as @hadialqadi, namely "soundflower is in my sound preferences" and "soundflower is listed in the midi menu with no way to press the 'minus' button".
However, unlike @hadialqadi, I don't seem to have soundflower actually installed any more (well, there's remnants of it here and there, including a script writer that I don't know how to use) — and more to the point, certainly not the UN-installer.
Shucks!
Might have been me for deleting the whole darn thing, yet I still have this issue. My core concern is that I believe having soundflower listed as outputs in my Sound Preferences is messing with my bluetooth speaker.
Thank you so much.

Ok, I just posted elsewhere, but I'll try that. "Yuck", in terms of "the beauty of a solution" (redownloading something you're dissatisfied with in the first place!), yet there you go!
Thanks, @BryanZMan
Finally got rid of Soundflower on El Captain! 🙂
No longer appears on system pref. and audio midi setup.
uninstalled sound flower but is still showing in the sounds preference pane
