Need help with folder action

I have a folder action set up to open movie files in a conversion app but every time I add a new file it loads all the files in the folder. How can i exclude a file that has already been opened by the folder action. I can't move the file due to queing up moves for conversion if the file is moved after it is opened the the program doesn't know where to look for it. Any idea's. Ive tried Filter finder items by last opened and set it as today but that did not work. It opened nothing. May I could set it up to know if the file has been there longer then 5 min that the folder action should not open it. Thanks for your help.

This is for OS X 10.7.4

Anybody know how to write an applescript to select newly imported movies. I can write the rest. It is so i can have the meta data automatically added right after it imports

Basically telling itunes to select movie right after import then telling certin app to open and run. I just need the select newly imported movies part. thanks again.

Sorry so many post about other things. Is there a way to have a folder action delete the orginal movie file after the movie has been converted. Basically keep the file untill it is no longer in use. Qued files in the converter might be a problem for that to.

Folder actions are just regular scripts (or workflows) that get fired when a file is added to the folder it is attached to. Once the script (or workflow) is running it can do as it likes.

So in this case once the movie file has been converted the scripts next action could be to delete the original file.
