Any experience with new Pioneer DVR-111D?

The Pioneer DVR-111D burners are now starting to become available. Has anyone had any experience yet in installing one of these on a PowerMac G5?

Hello, please help. I have installed this 111 and iTunes has no problem reading but will not burn saying "Disc burner or software not found" In Advanced> Burning> it still thinks that the old 103 is still there. I am using a PM G4 with 10.3.9. In system profiler it see the 111 but disc burning is not supported. How do I fix this for iTunes. Thanks.

Tightening the screws will not solve the problem. You do need to remove the faceplate from the tray itself. It snaps off. You will need to take the drive out of the computer, eject the tray by using the pinhole, and then use as screwdriver or similar devise to pop the bezel off the tray front. The "metallic shiny thing" on the old drive need to be put onto the new drive and I suggest using the original cabling as well.

I just did this process last nite and it was literally a snap. Took all of 15 minutes from shut down to rebooting the computer.
