Yes. You are free to give away your book in iBook format (but not sell it) by whatever means you like. Just make it available via download from a website, or distributed via Dropbox, for example.

I recommend Dropbox as well

since upgrading to the new version of ibooks author and running all current updates on ipad for ibooks and OS. When sending out links through dropbox to multiple ibooks...the file overides itself.

1. I have 2 books on 2 different URL dropbox links.
2. It downloads the first one fine.
3. I click on the next dropbox link to download
4. it downloads and I click "open in ibooks"
5. but it still one shows book #1

Have been able to replicate this on multiple ipads and multiple file share/hosting sites. Is anyone else having this issue???

Only work around I found is download file on desktop > load in itunes > sync ipad

this is really not an ideal solution when distributing books to a sales force
