Calendars not syncing on iPhone 4S

A few days ago I realized that events created on my home Mac were no longer syncing through iCloud to my phone. This had been working perfectly through MobileMe since November (when I purchased the phone), and also on iCloud after I made the switch in March. It seems that the problems arrived in mid-May with the release and update to iOS 5.1.1, which seems to have solved my iCloud battery drain issue by making it not sync at all anymore.

I know I'm not the only person experiencing problems with iCloud syncing, but I'm not seeing this problem specifically in the discussions. It has basically rendered my phone's calendar completely useless, as entries are not syncing to or from the phone, and this is a serious problem for usage. I've tried and tested all the standard fixes such as restarting, forcing refreshes, turning off/on iCloud, etc. with no results (or an occasional event syncing, but not the majority).

All syncing is working across my other devices (iMac, MacBook, and iCloud.com).

Is there any fix to this, or do I just have to wait for iOS 6 and pray?

For some reason my iPhone 4S had issue with syncing tonight - just a shared calendar. On phone Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendar/Calendars sync events has always been set to '1 month back' without issue, I've now set to '3 months back' and the issue has been fixed. iCloud set to PUSH.

Switching back to '1 month back' new test items weren't showing up - so must be a corruption in some database or something. Setting back to '3 months back' test items showed up no problems.

Huge thanks for original post.

Switching to 1 month back or All Events or iCloud set to PUSH did not work for me. I went to iCloud Support site and started stepping my way through the troubleshooting. One of the first steps was to check the System Status. Sure enough, iCloud calendars had some problems on 8/14. I powered off both iPad and iPhone and then turned them back on. It worked!

After following the instructions in this thread, playing with every setting imaginable on my computer, icloud and iphone I still couldn't get all of my calendars to sync... finally I figured it out and it was the dumbest reason of all:

After multiple restores over the years and new computers I have ended up with multiple duplicate calendars on my computer, phone, icloud AND gmail calendar account... in the end I simply had to go through all the events manually and change the calendars they are listed under over to calendars under my icloud account on my phone and now everything is syncing perfectly.

I tried this but it hasn't changed anything for me. My problem began after the iOS 6 update and all I could see of my calender history was the last month. I've tried the above fix mentioned, rebooted my iPhone probably 5 times, switched the fetch to push and back again, deleted my google calendar account from Exchange and put it back on. All my events are on google calendar but my iPhone 4s will only show the last month of events. If any of you have found a workaround, please help. (ps I am not familar with iCloud and don't use it at all) Thx

Could not get my 4s and iPad calendars to sync. Backed up to the Cloud, already set to "all events", double-checked every setting possible in General, Privacy, Mail/Contacts/Calendars... no luck. Googled it and read several posts that didn't hit head on. Then, I solved it myself!! I TURNED OFF CALENDARS on both devices, choosing to maintain the data on that device (don't delete it!) then... wait for it... turned them both back on... AND THEY WERE SYNCED!! O, Happy Day! Stupidly simple is sometimes the best.

I have spent my evening trawling through support pages! Exporting calendars, deleting them, importing them, taking them off syncing, putting them on syncing...

I didn't have that setting ticked before installing iOS 6 on my iPhone 4, my phone has always synced all events. I can't believe it was such a simple solution. I automatically thought the problem lay with my mac not my iPhone! I wish Apple wouldn't change settings and just leave them as they were before the update!

Thanks again, much appreciated! You've saved me another evening of trying to look for an answer!

I have tried everything listed in this and many other posts:

- iPhone calendar is on iCloud

- iCloud calendars enabled

- Sharing All Events

- Push selected

- Turned on/off again

- Cretaed new calandar to go from scratch

Nothing works!

However, events created on my MacBook do appear on iPhone but nothing goes the other direction!!!

When is Apple going to sort this cr*p out?!

Marylouski, you solved this for me!!

I tried everything else mentioned on this post, and no go.

But I went to my phone, told it to take my calendar off icloud, powered the phone off, went back to my macbook pro itunes, told it to synch calendars (which for some reason was off freakishly), turned my connected phone back on, and voila! There are all my calendar items on my iphone 4s again!

This has been broken for about 2 months now, and my very complicated life was getting unbearable without a synched calendar... THANK YOU MARYLOUSKI !!!

I'm testing it right now, by adding an event on my phone, and synching, and adding an event on my laptop, and synching... will they work???????? ......... YES!!! BOTH WAYS WORKED! BLESS YOU!

Now for the contacts, which also haven't synched (sunk? 🙂) for months... Doing the same thing... taking contacts off icloud, turned off phone, see what happens...... Well, this part isn't going so well... but I think that's a separate question, as it used to synch my google contacts with my phone, and now that seems kaput... I'll google a separate question for that one.

Thanks again, Marylouski!!
