Can I leave my iPad plugged in all the time? I like to use the clock and alarms.

Generally, yes. The iPad does have a feature where it it stops charging when reaching 100%, discharges slightly, then charges back to 100%, so that it never 'overcharges'. Despite this, constant power going into the device may cause the battery life to be affected slightly.

Thanks for the info,but just so I get this very clear;I don't have a computer,other than my iPad,while not using it,do I leave it unplugged,plugged in,or it doesn't matter.Please be clear on this,as I've gotten every possible answer,and that from the Apple Store!

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Leave the iPad plugged in the power in as long as you want, but for the battery it is good when once in a while "the electrons move", use it once a week or two weeks when not connected, for example till the battery is empty halfway.

This is a late reply, but... I think it depends what model of ipad you have. New ipad model, it appears, can be left plugged in. From CNET March 2012: "Following questions about the accuracy of the new iPad's battery status indicator and its recharging technology, Apple now says that it's part of its software to continue charging and discharging the battery when it nears 100 percent, and that there's no harm in leaving it plugged in."
