Is the application "AppZapper" safe? I've heard that after installation, it never leaves your system if you ever want to "trash" or uninstall it. Debating whether or not to install it to get rid of some apps and downloaded things from the internet. (ex: Limewire, music, LockdownPro)

I have been a happy camper 🙂 using AppZapper for at least 8 years. When there is no uninstaller from the developper, just putting the app into the Trash usually does the job but still there is a lot of scrap left in your library folder ( prefs, plists of all kinds, app support folders full of other crap) AppZapper reads, find and lists them before you press the Zap button !!!
There is in the V2 version there is a fonction to find scrap that is amazing !!! Listing all apps, you just select one and it shows what is related to this app. Sometimes, knowledge is the answer to questions !
On top of that, the team of App Zapper are the most efficient team, responsive, responsables, with a lot of knowhow...

Third party apps that claim to protect, clean, manage, boost performance etc. are not needed.
It should be safe, but also note that it - and all other similar apps - will never be able to work perfectly. To uninstall an app that did not require an installer, simply delete it. To uninstall an app that did require an installer, you should use whatever uninstaller was provided. That uninstaller may be part of the installer, may be installed somewhere on your hard drive and may be available for download from the developer's web site. In some rare cases, an app will require an installer but will not provide any kind of uninstaller, in which case you will need to search the internet for instructions. (Search for "mac uninstall someprogram".)
Thanks so much! To say I've been having a mac since '07, I sure don't seem like it. I forgot that you have to go to tge folder and see if it has an uninstaller! I just went ahead and used an app on the appstore called MacCleaner I think. But will definitely remember for next time! (:
I do hope that MacCleaner (I think) was not what I think it may be. Download Easyfind (it's safe) then use it to check out what you did actually download. Then get rid of whatever the Mac(X) was.
