Syncing iCloud calendar with Lotus Notes

I have an iPod Touch (4th generation) running IOS 5. I also work for an organization that uses Lotus Notes 6.5 for WIndows as its Communication and calendaring software. I would like to be able to keep my healthcare and a couple other calendars synced between the two with minimal fuss. Obviously, I can manually add information to both platforms, and hope that I don't forget anything. I think I've heard of some software that would probably be blocked by the organization I work for as a security threat and would sync more info than I need, or I could????

Any ideas on how to keep the info consistent and correct?

Hi, I'm the IBM executive responsible for Lotus Notes.

We offer a solution for synching iOS devices with Notes mail/calendar/contacts, but it requires a server component in your IT environment called Lotus Notes Traveler. It isn't designed to run with Notes 6.5 (which is about a decade old), but if your IT department upgrades you to a later version, it will work.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

First off, the Traveler works wonderfully and I recommend it highly. Use it every day.

But I havent found a way to publish Notes calendar to desktop iCal. So I wrote my own agent. The agent goes into the mail file and is accessed by direct URL http://yourmailhost.company.com/mail/yourmailfile.nsf/feed2

Obviously there maybe security implications to publishing your calendar, in my own case the mail file is only accessible while VPN'd. Fundamentally thats something you'll have to consider on your own.

The code of the agent and details of agent configuration are available here http://zr.livejournal.com/60118.html

This is a very much an adhoc solution thats only meant to satisfy my own narrow needs, but maybe it'll help you get started. Feedback is appreciated and I will try to provide whatever help I can if you need it.

Hi, I'm Nikolay Redko from Inexika.

IBM Traveler is great and powerful solution. But it should be installed on Domino server, which is not possible in some organizations.

For personal use we implemented synchronization tool AweSync - http://www.awesync.com

It allows you to sync your Lotus Notes data with Google, and then you're able to easily sync your data to iOS.

Hi Robert!

For some reason this forum doesn't forward replies to email...

Thanks for greetings and for the good words about our tool. We are working on multiplatform version now (Win, Mac, Linux). Current beta synchronizes Lotus Notes email with Google - http://www.awesync.com/awesync.mail.beta

Further versions will include contacts, tasks, calendar etc.

For any questions about AweSync or Awesync.Mail please contact us by support@awesync.com

Nikolay

Hi,

I already use Lotus Notes Traveler and it works perfectly simulating an Exchange account on the IPhone.

But ...

The problem is that this calendar is only local on the IPhone and is not replicaed via iCloud in ICal on my Mac.

Do you know how I can solve this Sync problem and see all my calendars (Exchange, google, iCloud and Notes) on my MacBook ?

Thanks

Dany
