Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
after removing logic board on my 20"imac g5 i sight to look at caps
everything was fine, replaced my board. my led diagnostic light # 1
goes on when plugged in. thats ok when pressing power button
light #2 goes on but right off.jumps right to led #4 and 4 light
stays red. ahy help appreciated. unit does not power up

Kernel panics are often caused by hardware issues. Diagnosing a hardware issue is best done by someone with expertise who can look at the actual hardware. No one is trying to keep any "secrets."
going to take out logic board again read alot about thermal paste, however last time it was out
i did not notice where the paste went, saw no gunk as such is there a diagram that shows where it goes
i get the gray screen, apple logo, spinning gear, all fans race, then the restart computer logo
once or twice i managed to get to safe boot, but it shut down with the hardware chec disk
running, can i narrow this down to heat related, power supply getting too hot???
what would be the first component to heat up. spoke to a guy on the phone
where i live had same problem, said its not power supply, it was a heat sink
problem, again with that thermal paste, he fixed his???????
