page will not load up; facebook, google, yahoo

Page will not load up for Facebook, Google and Yahoo.

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Hi..

If you are using Safari to access FB, Google, and Yahoo, might be a cookies issue.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type this exactly as you see it here:

~/Library/Cookies

Click Go

Move the Cookies.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.

Quit then relaunch Safari.

If that didn't help, make sure you aren't using an account on your Mac that doesn't have Parental Controls enabled.

And apps like Little Snitch can prevent pages from loading also as well as security software (anti virus).

Carolyn: Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it step by step but it still has the same issue. . It starts will contacting i.e. Yahoo. and then sits idle for a few minutes. After a few minutes, it begins to load but only completes i.e. 18 of 31 (1error). Any more suggestions? Thanks

I ran into this problem running a G4 with Mac OS 10,5,8 and could not load yahoo, google, or facebook. I was going through the airport card (802.11 B) and could not connect to yahoo, google, or facebook. I finally connected the ethernet directly to the computer and it works now. So I am thinking the settings on the wireless router could be at fault. They all work now. I tried everything from virus scans, router setting changes, clear cache/history and I even started using bing... because it worked.
