iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
Turn the iPad On...

It must been on low battery.
But it was fine it just started not working
me too. my ipad 2 just kept on turning off( as in sleep mode) when i close the cover. Solution ?

The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup... Restore as New...
If you try all these steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first...
Pleaase someone help!!! My ipad turned off manually on its own since last week tuesday, and it was at about 80%-85% charge. I have tried to hold down the home and seep button, bc it has happen to me before, but this time, it seems as though it does not want to turn on at all. I even tried to retsore and backup with Itunes, and I get an error 4013, stating that I must restore the ipad inorder for a download or software reset... I'm lost and need help, does anyone one know what else i can do. The apple store wants me to pay an additional 300.00 for replacement. I know there is a fix...please help! For now, I will leave it plugged up with charger conneted to wall, until something happens.
