How can I save a Word document to my iPad?

Hello,

I have an iPad2 running the latest version of iOS. I can view Word documents that arrive in my email but I would like to save them to my iPad in a more permanent and easily accessible manner. Obviously the iPad doesn't have a visible file system and saves documents to the appropriate app instead. Alas I cannot seem to find a way to save a Word document to my iPad. I definitely do not want to edit the document so I do not need Pages. I'm left wondering how other users store Word documents on their iPad and if there is a built-in app that allows general storage of files in recognised formats. Just to be clear I would like to confirm that the Word documents are not arriving in .odt format and thus they can be viewed in email

Many thanks for your help with this conundrum,

Andrew

The more I read on Apple Support Communities the more I see that you have problems with others seeking help. Haven't you got anything else to do but write sarcastic notes to people seeking help. Grow up lady!

I'm sure I have no idea what I ever did to you to provoke this outburst. I haven't participated in this thread since April of 2012 when I was responding to someone with some serious issues who was accusing me of trying to find them.

Apparently, other people seem to feel differently about how helpful I am. If you don't like my posts, feel free to ignore them.

Best of luck.

It might be true that you haven't participated in this particular thread since April of 2012 but you have been responding to other threads like the one where I was seeking help and you gave me a sarcastic answer. I ignored what you wrote. But when I saw you did the same thing to another I came to the conclusion you have nothing else to do but sit at the computer and write sarcastic replies like you know everything. Again, Grow Up.....Live and let live. Remember, just the other day you wrote to Capt. Arty.......

You were rather rude to someone else in that thread. But, despite that, both of us tried very hard to help you. I even took the time to cut and pasted all of the information that you were having trouble finding into the thread for you so that you would have it. I said nothing rude or sarcastic to you. I also said nothing rude or sarcastic in this thread. I advised someone not to threadjack, and, when they launched off an incomprehensible rant and accused me of trying to find them, I asked them why thought I would want to do that. I'm sorry if you didn't find my help useful. As you don't seem to like my help, I will endeavour to avoid proferring it again.

Best of luck.

Who are you to judge that I was rude? Who anointed you? When someone like myself asks for help you should not assume that the individual asking for help is as experience or knowledgeable as you might think you are. Novices ask for help and they don't need the answerer, like your self, to give the one seeking help the impression that they must be stupid for even asking for help. It reminds me of teachers in High School that pulled the same smart stunt in answering questions of students. That's exactly what your replies denote. Again, go up and get a life lady.

And I will turn that question back to you. Who are you to judge that I was rude? Who annointed you?

It's obvious that you've some strange bee in your bonnet despite the fact that I went spent my valuable time trying to help you. If you want help, sometimes, people will need to ask you questions to understand what, exactly your problem is and what the situation is. If you are unwilling to tolerate such questions, the quality of help you receive will be diminished.

And, as for "getting a life", I did not seek you out to chastize you. You sought me out. The fact that you seem unwilling to let it drop is telling. But, I can be the bigger person and end this.

Best of luck.
