When switching on iMessage I get the iMessage password screen but for some reason my apple Id is displayed incorrectly and therefore I can't verify.
How can I change it ?

But do you have more than one Apple ID, and if so, is this email address already associated with another of your Apple IDs?
No I don't think so, as far as I know I only have one apple id, anyway of finding out ?
Try to input wrong password till view a message (about 5 times, I didn't count it) and a form with both parameters - apple ID and password. Done!

For anyone else coming across this thread, log in to your My apple ID page and change your phone number in there to your new number. Turn iMessage off and on. Took me 5 minutes.

you just need to go to setting on your iphone then messages then send & receive then there you are you just change up to the top in apple iD
