how to make an apple id without requiring any credit card or payment?

It's actually quite simple. All you need to do is attempt to purchase a free app and when it asks your to sign in simply click create account. I guarantee that you will see the "none" box during the setup.

Does anyone know how to get to the "NONE" in the payment section with an Apple ID that has not logged into the iTunes store? I am trying to add coworkers to the iTunes store with a valid Apple ID and when logging into the store, the store wants a credit card when I don't want a credit card associated with the Apple ID. I tried to download a free app and the payment verification window comes up without the "NONE".

Any ideas?

Hmm. I have created an apple ID, but when I want to install a free app, it says that I haven't used it in the Itunes store. When I want to go install something now and I log in with my Apple ID, it wont give me a none option. I can't create another account..

I have this same problem here.. already have Apple ID, not going to add a credit card to it, since I am not going to buy anything. I just want the free software. Why can't I use App store without credit card even if I am not buying? Why does it require credit card to install free software? I must say this is the stupidest thing yet from a company that states simplicity as their guideline. I guess they mean the users, not the software.

hello guys, i've had the same problem as you, this is how you solve this:

1.download itunes software on your pc from this website: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

2.after installing the software, choose there to download a free application

3. now it will ask you to either log in with existing account or create new account. choose to create a NEW account (even if you already have one, open a new one with some other email address you have).

4. now fill up the normal stuff (username,password,etc..), then on the payment method - you will now have the option "NONE" - choose it! now clicks next and verify your account on your email.

5.now your new account has been successfully formed without choosing a payment method, and since this account has already been in itunes - it will not ask you to "Review" your info for payment method.

6. now you can log in with this new account you just formed to app store on your iphone,ipad,ipod etc.. it won't ask you anymore for payment stuff.

note: all the previous accounts you've formed are useless - you can simply forget about them.

i still can't proceed on the next step because there's a message shown that "please contact itunes support to complete this transaction"...

I'm having exactly the same problem. I've tried creating accounts both from within iTunes and directly from my iPod. I can create an Apple ID and get the None payment option but I'm still getting "please contact iTunes support to complete this transaction". For some reason it seems to be unwilling to accept my salutation choice (huh??) and my phone number. I'm running out of both email addresses and patience. Why on earth do they require a phone number from somebody who just wants to download a free app anyway? 😠

The one im using is in the phillipines .. But there is no icon or link that shows there when im making m apple id .. Please help me . Thank you. Asap

e.g. log out if you are currently logged into an account, and then find a free app in the store and click on its free 'price' :

Click on 'create Apple id' on the popup :

Agree to the terms, fill in your details, and you should then get the 'none' option on the payments screen - I've just tried it and I get the 'none' option :

I just set up some new imacs for work, which I didn't want to have credit cards setup on the MAS account. I didn't want to set up yet another MAS account to do this, so just entered my card details. I was then able to go back in to edit the account once it was set up and in Edit Payment Info the None button appears are you can then select this which will remove the card details you just put in.

We DON'T want to create a new Apple ID we want to somehow disable the billing options!

Is it an account that has never been used with the store, or one for which you want to remove your card details from ? If the account hasn't been used with the store and was created without following those instructions then you will need to enter card details before you will be able to use it to download content from the store.
