Hi
I am attempting to install os x leopard 10.5.6 on my imac g4 by using xar 1.5.2 to decompress the OSInstall.mpkg file, so I can skip the system checks as my imac is unsupported by leopard.
I have been through the process of installing xar 1.5.2, but when I type the command xar into terminal after installing xar, I get a command not found message.
Can anyone help ?

If your iMac can't support Leopard, it can't.
Leopard system requirements:
Ignoring the fact that you can't install on a machine that doesn't satisfy the intaller requirements it sounds like you simply didn't type the proper pathname to the xar command or if you just typed xar it is not in your $PATH directory settings.

this solved the path problem but I still had to sort out some other errors I was getting when istalling xar. Now I have successfully installed xar and have used it to decompress and compress the mpkg and in so doing I have changed the system checks which was my original goal.
