The only way that I know to take a screenshot on the iPad is to press the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons quickly at the same time. This is tricky for some folks to do. I do it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button first and then quickly (before the Sleep/Wake button puts the iPad to Sleep) pressing the Home button, and immediately & rapidly releasing both buttons. I don't do FT from my iPad normally,so I have never tried to take a screenshot while using that app.

I would imagine that you do the same thing that you do for any screen shot. Hold the sleep button down and then tap the home button. The screen should flash white and you will hear the shutter sound.

Look for the photo in the camera roll.

I just tried this without FaceTiming with anyone else but I was able to produce the screen shot of myself so I assume that it will work.

Screen captures are not the same thing as taking an actual picture. While it is a work around, I find it quite the oversight not to have a camera option for it. Perhaps there is another app that does it or may be it is limited due to security reasons. But if you can make chat sessions with live window why not add the option to take a snapshot? Also with screenshots if you just want the image you will have to crop, not quite intuiative for a Apple product in my opinion. I am going to just find another app that does what I need.
