How to recover my lost notes

Since 4 days ago, suddenly I've missed almost all my notes, most of them, very important to me, maybe it happened after an Office for Mac actualization, particularly, an Outlook actualization.

I know that it is a common situation, can somebody help me?

Thanks in advance.

I am having the same problem. Yahoo account is my default e-mail, and my laptop is a PC. I also found that the only way to put the notes back onto my iphone 4 is to copy & paste them back in.

The problem is that the app keeps losing notes about every 2 weeks, dropping the 10-15 notes I've used most recently. Of course it also happens just when I'm away from my laptop and need that particular note, only to find it missing! Is anyone else having this same RECURRING frustrating problem?

Is this a Yahoo problem? Is this an incompatibility problem with my PC? My gmail is set up as an exchange account (the only way it would work on my iphone 4). Can the notes be set up thru gmail/exchabge instead of Yahoo? Does attaching the notepad app to gmail/exchange get rid of this problem?

BTW, unlike EST0416, I'm not willing to turn off the syncing -- too worried about REALLY losing my notes.

I agree the notes syncing defintely needs some improvement.

In setting

iCloud - Notes ON

Mail Contacts Calendars - iCloud - Notes ON

Mail Contacts Calendars - email1 - Notes ON

Mail Contacts Calendars - email2 - Notes ON

Notes - Defalt Account - email1

In the Notes app

iCloud - Last note dated Dec 24, 2012

email1 - Last note Feb 12, 2013

email2 - no notes

On my PC, I go to the Notes folder in email1

I have notes up to May 6, 2013, the last note I entered.

Note, these are only my notes assigned to email1. The iClould notes are not in this folder.

On iCloud.com, I go to Notes, and do see a copy of all my (iCloud) notes.

I moved all the notes in the Notes folder to a folder called Notes2. The email 1 notes in the Notes app disappeared. I then moved everything back, and only notes up to Feb 12, 2013 were restored.

In trying to figure what is happening, I created a new note, May 15, 2013 and it went to my iCloud group.

On March 17, 2013, I had a similar issue and had to copy and paste all my notes. Similar to above, I created a Notes2 folder, moved all the notes, and then accessed the notes through my iPhone email app. Copying and pasting each one, about 40 notes.

Does anyone know of a way other than cutting and pasting, to get the notes from Feb 12, 2013 to present restored?

Is there a way to consolidate the iCloud and email1 notes? My preference would be to have everything in the Yahoo/Notes folder, but can live with an iCloud only solution.

Anyway from preventing this from recurring?

Is this a problem? My iPhone has both email1 and email2 set up. I occosionally use my iPad. My iPad also has both email1 and email2 set up. My wife occasionally needs access to my email, so she has email1 and email2 set up on her iPhone. She does use notes heavily on her phone. She has a seperate iClould account. Is syncing across all these iOS devices a problem?

Thank you,

Seriously, thank you! Didn't have much faith that this would work (I recently accidentally killed my iPhone and wound up switching to an Android phone; I truly loved my iPhones but felt it was time to change.) the transition has been difficult because the operating system on my new Samsung phone is not nearly so easy and intuitive AND I can't setup my new phone with just a little click of iTunes! I saved lots of information in the notes on my old phone -- things like what printer ink we use & the number for a calling card that I have. I really used this information and I am so grateful to have it again! I only wish it would be this easy to get all my contacts and iTunes and everything else that I am missing; my icloud backup doesn't seem to be accessible. But this was immensely helpful!!

Thank you so much! This worked. 100% accurate info. My yahoo account is my default e-mail. I did find notes folder and my lost iPhone notes were recovered! I have to add a note. I only see notes folder when logging into yahoo mail from a standard computer, does not show up on iphone mail. Thanks so much seesamfly I never realized how important my notes are until I lost them. I think they disappeared after doing a icloud backup. Watch out people.

I am not sure but you can get back your deleted notes by trying this solution.

• It is a simpler way first just disable Automatic backup .

• Connect your iPhone to your computer.

• Now right click on it and finally select "restore from backup".

Thank you whoever it was that said to look in the email. I lost notes twice this year for some reason. I have no idea why. All of my notes were in that yahoo notes folder! Wow!

Now to transfer them back to my iPhone. On your regular computer create a new folder, I named mine itunes notes just for simplicity. Open up the "Notes" in your email on your regular computer in the yahoo mail. You will see all of your lost notes. Now check the box at the top selecting "All". Then from the top select "Move to different (or new) folder". Select your new folder. They will transfer and the new folder will be on your iPhone with the recovered notes. And, you still have them in your email too in the new folder. They will be gone, however, from the original notes folder but they are in the newly created folder.

If you want to put them back into the iphone notes app you have to cut and paste individually, good luck with that. They will be there until it happens again. But at least you can now access the important recovered notes from your iphone.

Hello everyone! After reading this thread, I discovered that I have my Notes syncing to my gmail account. I found the "Notes" label in gmail but most of my notes are still missing. What's in gmail is what's on my phone. I only noticed recently that my notes were missing and after reading several of these threads, I feel a little helpless since everyone else found theirs in gmail or yahoo.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
