iOS 6 activation not working? (Not registered)

@iTriky 's soloution work for me like a charm. Had been trying all night restoring and waiting to see if maybe just maybe the activation would go through. Felt like i had tried everything until i came accross @iTriky 's soloution and i walked away from it to go work on my car upon my arivail i come back to the fresh new app icons of iOS 6 beta 1 thank you very much. If your all still stuck i would suggest this mans method. Thanks alot i would have been sitting here all night!(again)

For me it worked for my iPhone 4S, but failed for my iPad 3,3. For the iPad 3 the problem is even worse, becuase there is no iOS 5.1 Image available, so that i can downgrade again.

@iTricky's suggestion worked for me after trying to wait out the "server" issues all night.

I've just done the same with an iPad 3 and after putting it into DFU mode iTunes automatically downloads 5.1.1 for the restore.

Worked for me thanks! Alt-Click on Update and then select the iOS 6 image and it worked fine.

do i need to put the ios6 ipsw file into the hidden Library folder in order to "upgrade" instead of restore?

Ok I'm on DFU mode, and where is the upgrade button? Or update button? I have only seen restore button available on iTunes, please help.

In DFU mode you need to restore first to get back to some version of iOS5, probably 5.1.1.

After you've restored and put everything backfrom your backup then you can do an upgrade to iOS6.

Just worked for me on iPad 3.

i got back to ios5. but i am still not too clear on how to do "upgarde" instead of "restore" can anyone help out here?

Hold the alt key on your keyboard and then click on the "Check for Update" button. This will open a panel for you to find the iOS6 image you downloaded from Apple.

@shawnliu you don't need to be in DFU mode. Just as you have installed iOS 5 you go to the iPhone tab in iTunes. Under (or above) Restore stands Update. If you hold alt (or shift Windows) and click this Update it will work. To get it, here is an image (DO NOT USE DFU TO UPDATE/UPGRADE):
