1st gen iPad and iOS 6

I'm a first gen iPad user. I don't understand why Apple is completely neglecting us. I can understand holding off on the cooler stuff for the newer iPads but we are the people who helped the iPad turn into what it has. Atleast give us and updated email, safari and stores. Why not? Androids have had those features for awhile. Just give us the second best thing out their. Don't let your three year old product fall behind the pack of android tablets. We paid to much for that. This is an Apple product, people respect that. When people ask us if they should buy an iPad, we don't want to have to say "buy an Android, they care about you even when your device is three years old, Apple forgot about us."

"This is up to the app developer. If Infinity Blade 2 includes sounds, the app developer is must provide an option to play music with a music streaming app or with the iPod during game play. Can you stream music with Sticher radio while doing other things such as checking/composing email, while web browsing with Safari, or while viewing photos with the Photos app?" (sorry, my iPad isn't showing the editing tools.)

What I meant was the app actually crashes. I know what you mean though. Certain apps turn off the music or Sticher but Infinity Blade 2 crashes before you reach the "touch to start" screen. I'm not sure if it's just an issue with the app or the iPad not being able to handle it.

Your quote would be more appropriate for a product line, not a model of a product line. Apple still markets, sells and supports iPads. And they still support the iPad 1, you can get it serviced, do an out-of-warranty replacement for accidental damage and warranty service for a manufacturers defect for some that are still in warranty. You can still buy music, apps, videos, books. Even after this fall.

A better example for your quote would be the Mac Pro. Does look like the end of the line for it.

Y'know, I am actually pretty disappointed in Apple the more I think about it. Some of those features being disabled for certain models is OK, but Turn to Turn navigation? VIP Mail? That's just cruel to not include, it'll make customers angry because they'll buy an iPhone 4 and it won't even have the features that Apple will advertise. They're making some bad decisions here by not including some incredibly simple features that have no effect on hardware at all, and they're turning into cash hoarders, it's like they can't give a little back after having $100 billion+ in the bank.

Well they can't add turn by turn because the iPad 1 doesn't have GPS does it? It would be nice to have the other features though.

The iPad was selling just 11 months ago. When iOS6 comes out I'll be able to buy/upload less and less apps, meaning my iPad will no longer do the job it was sold to do. Building in an 'end of life' is illegal in the UK, especially after such a brief life.

Now, I also have an iPhone 4s and an iPad 3, but I am disappointed that my old iPad will lose the ability to run the same software.

I'm now regretting getting the iPad 3. Does this mean a new OS will come out in March 2013 that I won't be able to run?

The trouble isn't the new update to iOS6.

The trouble is if you need restart your iPad and the Apps have been update to iOS6, You can not install many Apps updated to iOS6.

So we can not update freely all our paid Apps from iTunes.

You need backup of funtional Apps or ipas for future restart.
Maybe you can not restart your iPad again in future.
This is a death sentence for the iPad 1G.

It is no Ridiculous.

Well, nothing forces to me to update, but when I update my paid Apps from itunes I dont watch if this update will not work in my iPad.

Since now, I will be very care to update anything.

If I need to restart in future, I will not can install Page or Numbers if they were updated to iOS6.

I think it is not ridiculous in nothing.
