Now everything works! Shame on the Apple, that users have to solve Apple's problems on their own...

I've been trying with the above mentioned tools to no avail. I keep getting a 'command not found' reply in terminal. I've double clicked on the Binflash utility and it listed the commands in terminal

Lars, read carefully these instructions and remember that I'm not responsible to any damage that you could do to your computer by doing this:

  1. Copy necflash to the /usr/bin folder (to reach there Finder > SHFT+CMD+G and enter the name of the folder);
  2. Download and unzip the 102c image: http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/disclaimer/en/7170a/102c.7z.html in any folder (I suggest you to use your home folder, it's where Terminal starts);
  3. From this folder, open a terminal window;
  4. Scan to know the device's reference: necflash -scan (in my case was A:);
  5. Backup the original FW in case of something goes wrong: necflash -dump OldFirmware.bin a: (the a: is the reference to the device that you'd got when running -scan it will take some minutes, wait for it until the prompt line appears again);
  6. Finally, flash the new FW: necflash -flash 102cbt_rpc1.bin a: (again, the a: is the reference to the device that you'd got when running -scan);
  7. Accept the terms (I think it's twice) entering y [enter] then y [enter] again;
  8. Wait until the prompt again (don't do anything while waiting).

If anything goes wrong, flash again with the your backed up FW: necflash -flash OldFirmware.bin a:

Good luck!

Mario, I am trying to do the update mentioned above but am not very computer savvy when it comes to using Terminal. Your directions are very straightforward but I'm afraid I donn't know "exactly" what to type in Terminal and all I get is "command not found" when I type necflash -scan at the prompt.

Can you do a very simple walkthrough for me?

Thanks

Sean
